When re-rendering everything in 1080p, we took this as an opportunity to improve the lighting set up and some of the animations. I also managed to figure out how to implement a motion blur pass correctly into the exr output which saved us rendering out a separate beauty pass just for that. Yas.
Meanwhile, we used the 720p renders as practise in post production. I managed to get the whole studio working together late on a few nights during the week, which was great for teamwork, communication and keeping all the shots as consistent as possible. Also, the version of Nuke we were using was only available to us at uni, so no one had a choice mwahaha.
Generally, we all worked to the best of our abilities. Post may have been a smoother, less stressful process if we all shared the same drive/initiative to get this project done and done well.
The deadline for getting all the postified shots to Sarah was Tuesday night. From Saturday to Tuesday, I put every single 'bedroom' shot through a final filter to make sure they were all consistent. The shots where people put in time and effort were done well only needed little things tweaked. As we got closer toward the deadline, I had to pick up the slack on other shots, where less time and effort was put in.
As we've been received more and more feedback over the last few weeks from the director/client, constant changes were being made to the Post Document and Template Node Tree and I can see it was a challenge for everyone to keep up with it. Going forward I think I need to be more on top of my game when communicating and cater for my posties a bit better, so they are enable to do better work for themselves in the future.
Michael & Vince, headed up by Diew, mastered the entire boss scene in post, so it was a huge relief to have that load shared. We got 95% of the shots exported out of Nuke, zipped and uploaded the the G-Drive for Sarah by Tuesday night. I uploaded a few strays first thing the next morning.
On Thursday we got some feedback and had the chance to change and re-export a few things before viewing it on Friday morning. I was getting really sick of looking at Jordan's face at this point. I wanted to punch it. Watch out Jordsy.

But seeing the film put together with the audio on Friday was very rewarding. We did a great job overall.
