This week we explored chromakeying in Nuke; as I understand it, it's the process of compositing figures against a green/blue screen into a backdrop by turning said key colours into an alpha channel (also eroding/blurring any matte edges, colour matching and the rest.
See node trees below:

In Studio 13 we focused heavily on concept art for our short film, which we used to pitch on Friday. I spent a good portion of my time coming up with various looks for the main character and trying to incorporate the chosen colour schemes:

I had hoped we would have made more solid decisions on the distinctive look of the film this week, but our client wasn't 100% sold on our ideas. Therefore we are still in the stage of creating more 'polished' concept art that clearly drives home the look of the film (and sells). Polished work takes time and we have limited time. I am concerned that we are falling behind with what we had planned (e.g. we had planned to have started modelling by now and we don't have model sheets yet.
Although post work is still in the distance, I had a stab at assigning tasks to my post team 'posties,' which mostly involved getting know and exploring Nuke. As I'm no expert myself yet, it was a bit of a stab in the dark trying to assign people to do things when none of us are fully aware of the capabilities of Nuke. I strongly recommended to everyone to start this course; learn the basics first, so we can get into the more advanced stuff sooner. Plus, we are learning specific nodal features in lectures each week, so that gives us an advantage.
