I spent all week modelling Styxx. It took longer than I thought (I was too much of a perfectionist), but I am happy with the final result:

To be fair, I know if I don't get it right from the start, I'll have trouble later down the track; so I took my time.
I'm concerned the mesh is too dense and will be a nightmare to unwrap and apply blend shapes to. I've cleaned up the mesh as best I can but will need to get it checked over by another pair of eyes.
I've had to reschedule recording the audio/video reference for the animation until next week because of unforeseen circumstances.
I have also been doing external freelance work for a small independent urban planning business, Gerard Coutts & Associates, since August last year. They take drone footage of the land they want to develop (often large areas in the country) and I go over and animate motion graphics like the title, logo, mark out plots of land perimeters, major surrounding amenities and so on. I use After Effects & Photoshop mostly, but going forward I need to learn 3DS Max, Nuke, Revitt and AutoCad for more complex camera tracking and 3D compositing.
The final promotional video serves as a selling point to the group of landowners and provide a good visualisation of the plans for the land.
Here is an example:
I've also recently created motion graphics and audio for the business' logo:
It's a challenge tying to juggle everything, but at least it's paid work!
See you next week!
